What to Do in Montville
Montville is an amazing town complete with plenty of art galleries, pottery studios, specialty shops, craft cottages and fashion houses.  As the 'creative heart of the Sunshine Coast' you can experience life the way the artists do.  There are plenty of historical buildings and sites in which to visit.  While walking through the village you can hike the trails that start from Razorback Lookout.  If you are a more experienced hiker or just looking to commune with nature then you can head to Kondalilla National Park which is adjacent to the village.  From here you can enjoy scenic walks among the lush rainforest, and views of spectacular waterfalls on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk.   Also adjacent to the village you can head to the Baroon Pocket Dam which provides you with tons of quiet places to picnic, walk, fish, sail, canoe, and swim for the day.

If you are content to stay in Montville Village for the day you are sure to have a great time as well.  Filled with unique shopping, quality art galleries, little known cafes, great cuisine, and tons of scenic areas, you are sure to have a great time amidst all of the local artists.  But if you feel like taking a scenic drive, you can get to Nambour's 18 hole golf course in 15 minutes, and it is only 30 minutes to some of the best beaches in Australia.  Don't forget about all of the wine tasting and sight seeing that you can do on day trips outside of Montville.

Montville Events
The Sunshine Coast has many events throughout the year.  In Montville, Christmas is their special time of year.  Each Christmas, they decorate Main Street with brightly coloured festoon lights so that each evening the visitors and tourists can experience the best hand made crafts and artistry under illuminated lights.  Locals come out to greet the tourists and invite them into their galleries to experience the art first hand.

Montville Accommodations
In Montville, you won't find any high rise hotels that pack in tourists by the thousands.  Instead, you will find quaint Bed and Breakfast Inns, cabins, and smaller motels the biggest of which only has 26 units.  As you step away from the major tourist areas you can find low priced but quality accommodations in Montville.

The Montville Mountain Inn is the place to stay if you are looking for luxury.  With a spa, tennis courts, and fireplace, you are in walking distance to Main Street Montville.  The Montville accommodations also include intimate guest houses such as the Hunchy Hideaway with 2 cabins for romantic getaways, and Montagues of Montville which is perfect for a honeymoon.  Located on the edge of the rainforest, secluded deluxe Bed and Breakfast will give new meaning to the word romance.  There are many small and private cabins and cottages scattered throughout to make your stay in Montville very memorable.

As small as Montville is, the choices for award winning cuisine are huge.  There are restaurants, tea rooms, and cafes throughout the centre of town offering both indoor and outdoor areas to relax and eat.  There are a variety of foods including traditional Australian cuisines, as well as ethnic food.  Local produce is used for most of the meals so you know what you are eating will be fresh and delicious.

One of the most well known restaurants is Poets Restaurant.  Serving only the finest meals, cakes, and coffees, you can rest assured that you will get the true feeling of Montville as you soon as you step food inside.  If you are looking for something romantic, take a trip to Tree Houses Montville, which has great ambience with candlelight on the decks overlooking the Kondalilla National Park.  In fact, besides Tree Houses Montville, there are many private and romantic spots to eat some of the famous Montville foods.

Entertainment in Montville
The entertainment in Montville is relaxed and quiet.  There isn't a large amount of nightlife, as the locals prefer to get together for poetry readings, occasional live music and quiet intimate gatherings.  Although there is not a large nightclub in the area, there are plenty of places to gather together to meet fellow travellers, have a cup of coffee, or talk about the works of art you have found in the area.  Penefathings Inn is a perfect place to chat while enjoying one of the 12 beers on tap, or the extensive wine list made up of over 70 different wines.

Getting Around Montville
To truly enjoy all that Montville has to offer, you will need to rent a car to get around.  High in the Blackall Ranges, it is a little over an hour from Brisbane and is spread out over a large area.  Once you get into town you can walk to the main areas, but if you are looking to visit cities outside of Montville you will need transportation to get around.
