Extended Description:
The picturebook Coral Coast, east of Bundaberg, enjoys crystalline blue skies, warm clear waters, and amazing dive diversity, offering easily accessible shore diving in the spectacular Woongarra Marine Park. As the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, the Coral Coast is home to many unique natural attractions. These include the annual migration of whales cruising our coastline and the nesting and hatching of Loggerhead turtles on Mon Repos beach. Furthermore, two majestic islands are a stand out feature of this region. Lady Elliot Island could be described as the final jewel in the Great Barrier Reef's crown and graces the reef's most southern tip. Lady Musgrave Island, to the north, displays similar topography and marine life. You can visit both islands on a day tour or set up camp. Dive sites range from a large shallow lagoon (home to sharks, rays and moray eel) to spectacular coral canyons where the big fish (batfish and yellowtail kingfish) school. A wonderful experience awaits you on Queensland's coral coast.
